MITRA Objectives
The objective of MITRA operational system is to provide the Civil Security centres with:
a real-time knowledge of the position and contents of dangerous vehicles circulating in their responsibility area,
warning and alert displays in case of dangerous situations: preventative measures
crisis management information in case of an accident: associated risks, potential consequences, applicable regulations and protection measures

Figure: MITRA System Principle
MITRA will entail co-operation between different European actors: Civil Security authorities, research organisations, industrial companies. The end-users will be actively involved in the project, from the user requirements collection phase until the deployment and validation campaign for operational feedback. They will also be involved in the different project reviews

2D / 3D Human-Machine Interface: Monitoring, Warning & Alert
The following figures illustrate what type of information MITRA could display in nominal, alert (2D & 3D) and crisis situations. In this scenario, the operator is supposed to be monitoring three vehicles transporting dangerous goods. For each vehicle, the operator can monitor:

Deployment & Validation Campaign
In order to validate that the MITRA system meets the user requirements, in particular that the rescue squads are satisfied with real-time information provided and that information can be efficiently exchanged, two types of field tests will be organised: road and rail field-tests in Germany, and road field tests in Spain and France.
Three Civil Security regional centres will be involved in this validation campaign:
in France (French Civil Security)
in Spain (Spanish Civil Security)
in Germany (German Civil Security)
The tests scenarios in Germany will be the following. The German Civil Security authorities will be actively involved in this validation campaign and the results will be monitored from the German regional centre.
a truck will transport dangerous goods, and an accident on this truck will be simulated
a train will transport dangerous goods, and an accident on this train will be simulated
North Dakota background check board . auto insurance
In addition a road field test will be organised in the French / Spanish border regions. The trials will simulate the hand-over of a vehicle between the control centre in Barcelona and the control centre in Valabre (near Aix-en Provence). The French and Spanish Civil Securities will be actively involved in this validation campaign, and the field tests will be monitored from both the French and the Spanish regional centre. The test scenario will be a truck crossing the French-Spanish border: an accident will be simulated in Spain and an accident will also be simulated in France.
